ORGANIZATIONS KILL KERALA FILM INDUSTRY
Film Exhibitors no new Malayalam Movies is currently shown in Theatres acros the Kerala State from first November 2011.The Distributors Association have now reliated saying that they will not distribute films of any language.But, medium type distribution company's ready to distribute their movies.
With an alarming fall in revenue,very few hits and poor turnout in cinema houses,there was precious little to cheer about for the Malayalam Film Industry in 2011.The Industry,which has a working capital of Rs.250 crores and employed 3 lakh persons,would grind to a halt.
The leaders of the Producers and Distributors Association are leading the association presently their are not in the field neither Production nor Distribution.Labours are unsatisfe of appointing as Chairman in the Labour welfare fund.

VIJAI IN KOCHI
Ilayathalapathy Vijai arrived on Kochi today.As he was there to launch the theatrical trailor of his forthcoming movie "Velayudam".
Vijai will be taken in a convoy of lot of his supporters from Kochi International Airport to the venu.He came to the venu around 12.30.Addressing thousands of his fans at a hall,where one trailor of the film were screened,then after Vijai said "Iam very found of my fans in Kerala.I have come here many times,including 'Velayudam' shooting.I was received here was exactly the way Iam received in the theatres in Tamil Nadu".

Malayalam Novelist George Varghese Kakkanadan passes away this morning.He was 76.Kakkanadan was battling cancer for the past 3 years.
Kakkanadan born in Thiruvalla ( kerala ).His life begnning as a School Teacher.He authored more than hundred of short stories and novels.He is a one of the pioneers of modern Malayalam Literature.His two novels made into movie.
Awards : Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award, Balamaniamma Award and Padmaprabha Award.

SMOKE FREE KOCHI
Kochi the first smoke - free district in India.The plan was drawn up at a district - level workshop for effective implementation of the National Tobacco Control Act.
The project is to ensure that no tobacco products are available in a 100 yard radius of all educational institutions in the district.

ECO - FRIENDLY KOCHI METRO
Kochi Metro is the long dream of kochinites. It was one of the first propossed in India but was delayed for political struggle. Now initial work started 9 th october 2011. The project is planned keeping in view the cultural heritage and commercial signficance of the city.
The total cost of the project estimated Rs.4424 cr. Rail spanning beginning from Aluva and Pettah 25 km in first stage and extending Cochin International Airport and Tripunithura in the second phase.
Kochi Metro is a rapid transit system for the city of Kochi. Beginning time train carring 600 passengers. 22 stations in between Aluva and Tripunithura.Minimum charge Rs.12. Completing the project by 2015.
