ECO - FRIENDLY KOCHI METRO

Kochi Metro is the long dream of kochinites. It was one of the first propossed in India but was delayed for political struggle. Now initial work started 9 th october 2011. The project is planned keeping in view the cultural heritage and commercial signficance of the city.

The total cost of the project estimated Rs.4424 cr. Rail spanning beginning from Aluva and Pettah 25 km in first stage and extending Cochin International Airport and Tripunithura in the second phase.

Kochi Metro is a rapid transit system for the city of Kochi. Beginning time train carring 600 passengers. 22 stations in between Aluva and Tripunithura.Minimum charge Rs.12. Completing the project by 2015.
